Terms of Service

Intervues Mentors lets a mentor connect a GitHub repository, break a project into tasks, accept candidates onto that project, and review the pull requests they open. Parts of that review are automated.

We are not a recruiter, employer, staffing agency, or placement service. We do not submit anyone to jobs, we do not vouch for any candidate, and we do not guarantee any hiring, income, or career outcome to anyone — mentor or candidate.

The service is provided on an early-access basis while we expand capacity. Features may change or be withdrawn.

You must be at least 16 years old and able to form a binding contract. You sign in through GitHub; you are responsible for everything done under your account.

Mentor access is granted by us and may be revoked. Being a mentor is a permission, not an entitlement.

You must give accurate information and keep it current.

This is the most important clause in these terms. Read it before you connect anything.

When you connect a repository, you confirm that you own it or administer it, and that you have the right to let us access, copy, and process its contents — including its source code, commit history, branches, issues, and pull requests — and to transmit that content to the third-party processors named in our Privacy Policy, including Google's Gemini models.

Do not connect a repository belonging to your employer, a client, or anyone else unless you are authorised to do so. Do not connect a repository containing credentials, customer data, personal data, trade secrets, or anything under a confidentiality obligation or export restriction.

You grant us a limited, non-exclusive, revocable licence to access and process the connected repository's contents solely to operate the service for that project: generating the task plan, running mechanics checks, producing automated reviews, and producing contribution guidance. We do not claim ownership of your code, and we do not use it to train our own models.

You can end that licence at any time by uninstalling the GitHub App or disconnecting the repository. Doing so stops future processing. It does not retroactively unsend material already transmitted to a processor.

When a pull request is opened against a connected repository, we send the changed files — the actual code diff — to Google's Gemini API to generate a review against the task's acceptance criteria. We also generate contribution guidance from review comments left on that pull request.

Automated review output is an opinion produced by a language model. It can be wrong, incomplete, or confidently mistaken. It can miss real defects and flag things that are not defects. It is a prompt for human judgement, not a verdict.

The mechanics check reports on conventions such as branch naming, task linking, commit message format and pull request size. Because we install without repository administration permission, these checks are advisory on most repositories: they report a status but do not physically block a merge. We say this plainly in the product and we will not claim otherwise.

The mentor is the decision maker. Merging, rejecting, and assessing a candidate's work are human decisions and remain the mentor's responsibility. Do not represent automated output to a candidate as if it were your own considered review, and do not rely on it as the sole basis for a judgement that affects someone.

Candidates who join a project retain ownership of the code they write, subject to whatever licence governs the repository they contribute to. Nothing here transfers a candidate's copyright to the mentor or to us.

If you are a mentor, you are responsible for telling candidates what happens to their contributions on your project, including that their pull request diffs are processed by an automated reviewer.

Candidates are not employees, contractors, or agents of the mentor or of Intervues, and nothing in the mentoring relationship creates such a status. If you intend to pay a candidate, engage them, or take an assignment of their work, that is a separate agreement between you and them and we are not a party to it.

Our Acceptable Use Policy is incorporated into these terms by reference. In short: no unlawful use, no harassment, no scraping or overloading the service, no attempts to extract or abuse our model quotas, and no using a project as unpaid labour disguised as mentorship.

We may suspend or remove any account, project, or repository connection that breaches these terms, without notice where the breach is serious or ongoing.

Intervues Mentors is currently free to use. We apply internal usage limits to automated review and generation so that one project cannot exhaust shared capacity.

If we introduce charges, we will say so clearly before they apply to you, and we will not start a recurring charge without your explicit agreement.

We own the Intervues name, brand, software, and the structure and wording of our generated outputs and templates. You may not copy, resell, or white-label the service.

You own your repository and your code. Candidates own theirs. We claim no rights beyond the operating licence described above.

The service is provided "as is" and "as available" during early access. We do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free, or that automated review will identify any particular defect.

We are not responsible for GitHub, Google, or any other third-party service being unavailable, changing its terms, or rejecting your content.

Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential loss, or for lost profits, lost opportunities, lost data, or hiring and career outcomes.

Our total aggregate liability for all claims relating to the service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or USD $100.

Some jurisdictions do not allow these limits. Where that is so, the limits apply to the fullest extent permitted and the rest of this clause still stands.

You agree to indemnify us against claims, losses, and reasonable legal costs arising from a repository you connected that you had no right to connect, from content you introduced that infringed someone's rights or breached a confidentiality obligation, or from your breach of these terms.

This exists because connecting a repository causes its contents to be transmitted to third-party processors. We have no way to verify that you hold the necessary rights, so that risk has to sit with the person who does know.

You may stop using the service at any time, disconnect a repository, or ask us to delete your account.

We may suspend or end your access for breach of these terms, to comply with law, or to protect the service or its users. On termination your right to use the service ends; the deletion rights in our Privacy Policy continue to apply.

We may update these terms as the product changes. Material changes will be posted here with a revised date, and where the change materially reduces your rights we will make a reasonable effort to tell you in the product before it takes effect.

Continuing to use the service after a change takes effect means you accept the updated terms.

These terms are governed by the laws of India, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. The courts of India have exclusive jurisdiction, subject to any mandatory consumer protections that apply where you live.
